Born in 1989, Tiago Leal began his music studies with the Electrical Guitar, and later the Classical Guitar at the Conservatório de Musica do Porto, in the class of Mário Carreira, who instilled in him a taste for early music. He graduated from ESMAE with very high classification (19 out of 20 possible points)

He participated in several masterclasses by world renowned lutenists, such has Eugène Ferré and Hopkinson Smith.

As a freelance musician he has performed with various ensembles in Portugal, Spain, France, Switzerland and Poland, either has a continuist or in other formations. In addition, he’s been active as a teacher since 2010.
